Product Safety

Are there any contraindications for using NeoGenesis products?

No. There are no known contraindications. Our products can be used on all skin types and all skin conditions. If pregnant or breastfeeding, consult with your physician prior to using Salicylic Acid Gel and Skin Restore Serum as the active ingredients in these products are often contraindicated.

Can NeoGenesis products be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

Yes. Most NeoGenesis products can be used during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. However, we recommend consulting your physician prior to using Salicylic Acid Gel and Skin Restore Serum as the active ingredients in these products are often contraindicated.

Product Usage

Can I use NeoGenesis with other product lines?

Yes. NeoGenesis works effectively with all other product lines. The key to success is to use NeoGenesis serums first, then layer other products over NeoGenesis serums. Because our patented technology has its own delivery system, it is important to use them first for that delivery system to get into the deeper layers of the skin. Please contact us at customerservice@neogenesispro.com.au for specific usage questions.

How can I incorporate Skin Restore Serum into my skin care routine?

There are many ways to add Skin Restore Serum to your skin care routine. If you’re using Recovery, Booster or Skin Serum, you can either apply one of these serums first, followed by Skin Restore Serum. Alternatively, you can use them on alternate evenings. If you’re also using Mandelic Acid 8% or Salicylic Acid Gel, we recommend alternating your evenings. Example: Monday Recovery, Tuesday Mandelic 8%, Wednesday Skin Restore Serum and repeat this cycle. If you have already been doing so and would like to try layering Skin Restore Serum, you can try layering your chemical exfoliant first (Mandelic Acid 8% or Salicylic Acid Gel) followed by Skin Restore Serum. With that being said, remember to to start slow and avoid overusing your actives to protect your skin barrier.

For treating acne, should I choose Salicylic Acid Gel or Mandelic Acid 8%?

If you have acne grade 1 or 2, which are characterized by tiny bumps that aren’t red or tender to the touch (closed comedones) or blackheads (open comedones) choose Salicylic Acid Gel. If you have acne grade 3 or 4 which are characterized by red raised breakouts that are tender to the touch (papules) or ones that have a white filled center (pustules) choose Mandelic Acid 8%. Note that Salicylic Acid Gel is effective to use as a spot treatment for pustules as well.

Are all NeoGenesis moisturizers acne-safe?

For treating acne, choose Barrier Renewal Cream or Light Moisturizer. Intensive Moisturizer will be too heavy for acne-prone skin. If using Barrier Renewal Cream and the skin is still dry, add Skin Serum or Booster to your skin care routine for increased hydration and comfort.

Oncology

Are NeoGenesis products Oncology friendly?

Most of our products are oncology friendly, except Salicylic Acid Gel, Mandelic Acid 8%, Fresh Face Mask, Volcanic Ash Mask and Skin Restore Serum. All masks may be used 6 months after completing any cancer treatments, or sooner if approved by your health care professional. We recommend consulting your physician prior to using either Mandelic Acid 8%, Salicylic Acid Gel and Skin Restore Serum after any cancer treatments.

NOTE: If purchasing through our US site, the Enzyme Crème Mask may be used 6 months after completing any cancer treatments, or sooner if approved by your health care professional.

Bruising

Does NeoGenesis have products that help with bruising discoloration?

Recovery and Eye Serum are good for bruised areas  to clear the purple and yellow colors in the bruise that are due to heme and bilirubin.

Chemical Peels

How do I use NeoGenesis after a chemical peel?

The skin is in a more fragile state after a chemical peel and care must be taken to not cause further damage. For a minimum of 2 weeks after the chemical peel, gently cleanse with our Cleanser, spritz the skin with Moisturizing Mist, apply Recovery, and follow with the Barrier Renewal Cream. Use this protocol twice daily. Be sure to apply a mineral sunscreen with an SPF rating of 30 of higher and reapply every 2 hours when outdoors as the skin will be photosensitive post peel. If the skin is feeling dry, tight or if peeling occurs, use Moisturizing Mist throughout the day as needed for soothing relief.

Yes. You may use Recovery after red or blue light therapy in the treatment room to enhance results.

Mature + Ageing Skin

I’m just beginning to show signs of ageing and want a great serum to begin with. What does NeoGenesis recommend?

We recommend Skin Serum as a daily serum for the first signs of ageing. It has an abundance of stem cell released molecules and provides hydration. It can also be used around the eye area.

How does S²RM® work on hyperpigmentation specifically?

The secretome from adipose mesenchymal stem cells used in our S²RM® has been found to suppress melanocyte differentiation and skin pigmentation by inhibition of melanin production through factors such as TGF-β1. This maintains the melanocytes in an immature, progenitor-like state, thus inhibiting melanin synthesis.

What products help with Melasma?

Since our S²RM® technology helps calm the production of pigment, using Skin SerumBooster or Recovery is helpful for melasma, as is breaking up the pigment using Mandelic Acid 8%, alongside an effective mineral sunscreen with an SPF rating of 30 or higher.

How long before I see results with Recovery?

While results may vary from person to person, for overall improved texture and skin health, results may be evident in a matter of days. For fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, scars, acne etc., results often take 3-6 months to see major improvements in the skin. Continued usage may improve the skin over time using Recovery in your daily skin care routine.

Microneedling

Can Recovery be used with microneedling?

Yes, it can be used before and after, and should be continued twice daily until healing is complete. If skin is very thin and damaged, it is recommended to use Recovery a month in advance of the microneedling treatment for the best results. Click here to learn more >>

Pores

What can be used to minimize the appearance of pores?

NeoGenesis Recovery serum used once or twice daily helps improve the appearance of enlarged pores. Volcanic Ash Mask used weekly can help gently exfoliate and surface skin cells that can clog pores, making them look larger. If skin is dehydrated, pores can become dilated so if this is the case, add Booster or Skin Serum to your skin care routine.

Does the ingredient Isopropyl Myristate in Erase The Day makeup remover block pores?

No. The ingredient Isopropyl Myristate does not block pores, and is not comedogenic. Erase The Day is a safe and effective makeup remover that features carefully chosen ingredients that are all ranked low in the Environmental Workgroup’s (EWG) analysis of an ingredient’s induction. NeoGenesis takes great care and research before adding ingredients into all product formulations.

Skin Protection

I live in a dry harsh climate. What NeoGenesis products can I use to protect my skin?

We recommend layering a few products to keep your skin properly hydrated and finish with a moisturizer to protect your skin barrier and keep moisture in. We recommend our gentle Cleanser, spritz with our Moisturizing Mist, apply Recovery, Skin Serum, then finish with Barrier Renewal Cream or Intensive Moisturizer. Use this protocol twice daily. These lightweight but effective products will provide immediate relief as well as improve the skin with continued use.

My skin’s barrier feels rough and red. Which moisturizer do you recommend to repair the barrier of the skin?

Barrier Renewal Cream is a deeply hydrating, reparative cream that works to repair the skin’s barrier function using key ingredients to minimize further damage: Free fatty acids, cholesterol, and ceramides. It has no scent, is lightweight, and can be used on acneic skin. Use it over one of our serums for best results.

Wound Care

Can Recovery be used on open wounds?

Yes. It may sting slightly due to a different pH level from the open skin/wound. The stinging sensation is normal in this case and only lasts for a few seconds. Note that you can choose Recovery + for application on open wounds as we have altered the pH level to prevent the stinging sensation.
